Crowned & Curious
A Sisterhood for Curious, Confident Black Girls
An enrichment collective for girls ages 7-9 centered on nature exploration, intellectual curiosity, and sisterhood
Who We Are
Crowned & Curious is the foundation of Brown Girls Society — a structured sisterhood that grows with Black girls from age 7 through 18.
Through interacting with nature, books, art, and thoughtful conversations, girls build friendships while developing the curiosity and self-assurance that will support them throughout their lives.
Research shows that belonging, identity affirmation, and a positive peer community are among the most powerful protective factors against anxiety, depression, and social isolation — particularly for Black girls.
We build those things on purpose, from the beginning.

Why This Matters
Curiosity is one of the most powerful forces in childhood.
When girls are encouraged to explore nature, ask questions, read widely, and connect with peers who celebrate their growth, they begin to see themselves as capable participants in the world.
Brown Girls Society exists to create that environment.
Crowned & Curious is where the journey begins.
Who It's For
Crowned & Curious is designed for:
Black Girls ages 7–9
Families who value:
curiosity and learning
time in nature
community
thoughtful childhood experiences
Participants will be placed in small cohorts of 10-12 girls to ensure meaningful connections.
Founder Note
The idea for Crowned & Curious started while thinking about the kind of childhood experiences I wanted for my own daughter.
I wanted her to feel comfortable exploring nature, confident speaking with others, curious about books and ideas, and surrounded by a community of girls who celebrate one another's growth. I wanted her to know herself — her culture, her story, her worth — before the world had a chance to tell her otherwise.
But I realized that spaces intentionally designed for those kinds of experiences don't always exist.
Crowned & Curious is my attempt to help build that environment — a sisterhood where Black girls can explore, learn, and grow together.
It's a small organization rooted in a big belief: that curiosity, confidence, and community can shape the way girls see themselves and the world around them.
